Fritz 18.4 Multilingual (Play chess to another level)

Overview: Fritz has fascinated the chess world for 30 (!) Fritz 18 offers you the opportunity to discover a new you in terms of the game of chess. "Evolving Genius" is a completely innovative training method, with which when you play against Fritz you learn more than just attack. You will be amazed at what you will find in yourself! You have never won such beautiful matches against Fritz!
This is possible because Fritz 18 cleverly organizes your game and guides you through the game with the help of subtle hints. As soon as Fritz is under pressure, as a defender he will prefer variations that give you, the attacking side, good sacrifice chances or another tactic. That often allows for spectacular attacking victories. Against Fritz18 you will achieve great victories that have not been possible in 40 years of chess programming.
However, the decisive question is this: how are the configurations in which attack opportunities arise? Quiet positional systems rarely lead to success, although here too Fritz manages to incorporate hidden errors. Over time, you develop the feeling of how to get to positions where there are threats against the king: you learn to attack better. For me, at least against Fritz 18, I changed my repertoire completely from 1.d4 to 1.e4. To shorten this learning process for you, Fritz 18 contains a repertoire for White with which you can get into promising positions more often.
In general, in the "Evolving Genius" mode at the "Club player" level, Fritz plays moderately, but nevertheless strongly. The games shouldn't be too simple. However, it is possible to win very often. For that, there are considerably improved subtle hints. You decide most of the game yourself, but when you face a headwind you can ask for help. Imagine an E-Bike - based on how good your performance is, you can turn on the motor mount, but you're still on the bike. Examples of subtle suggestions from Fritz18: "Attack a minor piece", "Occupy a strong square", "Threaten partner", "Gain material", etc.
Visual assessment
Users keep asking us if the engine output in infinite analysis could not provide more information than just the main variations and evaluations. For that reason, Fritz18 now displays a visual representation of important position parameters.
- Pieces well and badly placed in a color scale from red (bad) through yellow to green (good). Pawn structure and king safety are included in this assessment.
- Activity and coordination of all the pieces rated at five levels.
- Complexity and clarity of the position classified in six levels.
This visual evaluation is calculated for the current position of the board and is instantly available for any movement in the notation with a click of the mouse.
New analysis functions in the engine window
If the engine is analyzing in multiple variation mode, additional information is provided at the beginning of the calculation that provides interesting additional insights
1. Obvious alternatives along the lines of "Why ... doesn't it work?"
2. Interesting threat if any present.
Of course, it was also possible to pre-access this information with expert handling. But now it is actively offered and leads to additional ideas and possibly a better understanding of the tactical motives present. It is not to everyone's liking to imagine long engine variations in his head. In Fritz18 you simply hold the mouse pointer over a move in the variation and the relevant position remains on the board until the mouse leaves the area.
New board
Current variations of Windows have available with Direct2D a powerful interface for fast rendering on the screen. There was an opportunity to use it to make a new graphic chess board. The fresh and new look of the pieces is obvious, but the new technique allows for other subtleties, for example highlighting the pieces by making them shine or a decent animation of the captures.
