An amazing writer with great books! Even tho she releases one each decade.

Man, that's a hard one
I would probably say it's a toss up between Call Me Irresistible by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas.

Name of the Wind (Patrick Rothfuss) is still near the top of my list... and also The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman). It is a children's book; but then again, it isn't. Hm. I don't know about favorite, on a different theme, recently I enjoyed Underworld by Don DeLillo. I've given all as gifts and the recipients have never complained (except maybe that Rothfuss seems incapable of letting go of the last in the trilogy).

My favorite is definitely the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The beauty of Middle-earth and its tales has haunted me for decades.

any fiction that has stuff like nation, empire, settlement, civilisation management, development, diplomatic, politic, technology, knowledge "bringer", military, warfare stuff, etc.
Destiny's Crucible, Dragon's Wrath, Conrad Stargard, World-Lines, Bobiverse, Chronicles of Legionary Officer, etc.

i don't like anything has to do with some prophecy this and that, or good-evil chasing each other, or in short, the classical, cliche' fictions

Also a fan of The Flashman series by George MacDonald Fraser. Any other Flashmaniacs out there?
