Invasion: Earth Saga by Sean Robins (2-11)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 4.2 mb 2024 Reissue
Overview: Note from the author: This is a dark and gritty reboot of the humorous Crimson Deathbringer series.
My favorite author is Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files), which is probably how I ended up writing in a first-person POV with the same light-hearted, funny tone as he does. The fact that my MC’s name is Jim is purely coincidental though, and it has nothing to do with James Kirk either.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy

2. Indomitable - Earth has fallen.
The Xortaag fleet outnumbers the humans’ five to one, and using their mind-control machine, they can use all the Earth’s military forces against their own kind. The Xortaag colony ships are only a few weeks away, and when they arrive, they'll wipe out the human race to have space and resources for their people.
And as if all this wasn’t bad enough, General Planetary Genocide Maada has just laid a trap for the Earth fleet and decimated a large chunk of their forces.
To make things worse, an even more sinister threat (yeah, more sinister than the Xortaags) is emerging 1500 years in the future. An alien scientist is trying to send a two-hundred-thousand-strong armada back in time to exterminate all sentient life in our galaxy. Will he succeed?
How can our heroes fight against such insurmountable odds?

3. Valiant - Kanoor has fallen.
The Xortaags are back, and they’ve conquered the Akakie homeworld. If they have enough time to reverse-engineer all the advanced technology they can find on Kanoor, they’ll be undefeatable, and they won’t stop until they’ll have colonized the rest of the galaxy, starting with Earth.
To make matters worse, an even more sinister threat is looming in the darkness. Unknown to our heroes, a time-travelling alien fleet is on its way to our neck of the galactic woods.
Now it’s up to Jim, Kurt, and Tarq to save not only humanity but also billions of other people living on hundreds of different planets.
You thought the stakes were high in Invincible (with Earth conquered and 700 million humans killed)? You ain’t seen nothing yet!

4. Victorious - In Invincible, an alien race conquered Earth, and humanity faced extinction. The stakes were high.
In Valiant, the Xortaags occupied Kanoor, planning to annihilate all their enemies—starting with the humans—using the weapons they would have found there. The stakes were higher.
Could things get any deadlier?
Yes!
In Victorious, an armada with two hundred thousand ships travels back a millennium in time to obliterate all sentient beings in the galaxy by hurling asteroids at their planets. This is nothing like what Jim, Kurt, and Tarq have faced before—this is nothing like anyone in the universe has ever faced before.
“Let me make this perfectly clear: if we have to sacrifice a few billion humans in order to save a hundred trillion people in the galaxy, that is exactly what we are going to do.”
Commander Tarq
This is ENDGAME.

5. Valkyrie - What will you sacrifice to save the whole universe?
Following Jim’s audacious plan, Kurt and a team of Marines traveled to the future to destroy Voltex. However, in doing so, they inadvertently started a chain reaction that ended with the elimination of all life in the universe.
Now, as the clock ticks relentlessly, our heroes must get together one more time to save the universe before it is too late.

6. Dauntless - What will happen if the Akakies turn into the Klingons in a parallel universe?
Armed with their unparalleled technological prowess, they embark on a relentless conquest, seizing control of their own galaxy and casting covetous eyes upon ours.
In a shocking turn of events, the White Republic’s navy decimates the Federation’s forces in a devastating surprise attack. Now Jim and his friends must unite once more to kick out the invaders and liberate their worlds, but they have only a few thousand ships left. To make matters worse, they’re under a tight deadline, and time’s running out.

7. Freedom - Would you venture to a parallel universe to reunite with someone you love?
General Maada boldly leads his fleet to the universe ruled by the tyrannical Xenoakakies. There, he’s surprised to meet a few old friends as well as some new foes, including the Death Angel, the legendary enemy pilot who’s killed the general’s doppelganger.
While Maada has been through his fair share of hopeless battles, this particular conflict is on another level altogether, even for him. The insects’ hold on this universe seems unshakable, and their fleet dwarfs the general’s in both numbers and power by no small margin.

8. Fortitude - Can a time machine be used to save the galaxy?
Before teaming up with Tarq, Xornaa was a spy/mercenary with a terrible reputation.
After finishing a successful mission, she receives a mysterious offer, one that involves a lot of money for a seemingly easy job. But Xornaa has gone through the wringer several times in the past, so she has her suspicions, especially when she finds out the Akakies are involved.
As the femme fatale mercenary peels back the layers of this intricate web of intrigue, she soon realizes that appearances can be deceiving. Her choices now have the potential to shape the fate of worlds and could spell doom for entire civilizations.
Can a Xortaag spy, with a shadowed past and ambiguous motives, rise above her history to become a beacon of hope, fighting for the greater good in a desperate bid to save the galaxy?

9. Guardian - How can a mere mortal fight actual gods?
The Aax'ods, a race of immortal, omnipotent aliens who have been pulling the strings from behind the scenes for ions, have decided to crawl out of the shadows and rule the galaxy.
Now Jim and his friends must face their ultimate challenge, a threat more perilous than anything they’ve ever faced before, but how can they defeat cosmic beings so powerful that they can destroy planets with snaps of their fingers?
Jim is no stranger to defeating the odds: he’s already vanquished alien invaders, an enemy fleet coming from the future, an omnipotent AI, and the Xenoakakies from an alternate universe, but how can a simple fighter pilot possibly fight gods?

10. Majestic - The galaxy has fallen.
The Aax’ods, a race of god-like, immortal, omnipotent aliens, rule the galaxy with an iron fist, making everyone dance to their ruthless tune and kill anyone who disobeys them. The entire galaxy tithers on the edge of destruction, and all Jim can do is watch helplessly.
That is until Klatzo shows up in Benedita’s timeship and brings some information regarding the origin of the Aax’ods provided for him by a mysterious person in the future.
With some help from Liz (albeit unintentional), Jim comes up with one of his typically suicidal plans to defeat the aliens. Will he succeed? And at what cost? No one ever said fighting gods and monsters would be easy …

11. Leviathan - What’s worse than deranged godlike aliens? A vampiric deranged godlike alien!
When Jim and his friends succeed in killing the Aax’ods by opening a portal to the Crimson Universe, he figures they’ll have peace and quiet for a while.
But boy, is he wrong!
One day, out of nowhere and all across the galaxy, thousands of portals are open to the monster world, and trillions of beasts pour out. So many that they simply wash over the Federation’s forces, and that’s before they start to multiply exponentially.
How can Jim stop this new, unimaginable threat?
Or can he?
