0.5 Murder in the Attic - When a woman is grieving the loss of her husband at a young age, the last thing she needs is to find a dead body in the attic.
Della Fox’s husband never came home from his early morning run and never would. He’d been killed by a motorist. It’s been six months, and although Della has survived her tragic loss, it takes a supreme amount of effort for her just to get through each day.
But the morning she finds a dead body in the attic of an old Victorian home is the morning she begins to come alive again. Della discovers she’s a suspect in the case, because the victim was a business competitor of hers. They both owned antique and collective stores. She has to clear her name and find a suspect who has a far better motive for murder than the one attached to her.
Letting new interests back into her life is a huge step. A book club, a handsome sheriff, and a huge St. Bernard dog by the name of Moose, can certainly help a woman want to come alive again, and they do!
Join a reluctant amateur sleuth as she discovers a trait she never knew she had. She’s actually quite good at solving a murder mystery, and even the new sheriff agrees she has some sort of a special talent in this area!

1. Murdered Underground - Just the thought of a cave is scary.
You know, one with utter blackness and full of bats.
But what about a dead body?
Now, that’s really scary!
When Della attends a dinner party given by the new owners of a cave in the scenic Ozark Mountains, she’s really looking forward to seeing the cave, one that she and her deceased husband visited many years ago.
Unfortunately when the dinner group is given a tour of the cave, they find a dead body. Who is he? How did he get there? It’s been almost ten years since the cave was sealed off to questionable visitors who used it for illegal purposes.
Did the man’s death have something to do with the illegal activities that took place in the cave years ago? Did he die of natural causes, or from an accident, or was he murdered?
Driven by curiosity, and in an attempt to learn more about the man who died in the cave, Della talks to a convict, the woman the dead man loved, and a heartbroken sister still grieving over his disappearance.
Sheriff Metcalf pleads with Della to leave the sleuthing to him, but she’s driven to find out the truth about the man’s strange death and disappearance. Seems that the sheriff has a more personal interest in Della, and that’s why he doesn’t want her involved in the investigation. She might be the next victim!

2. Murder at Home - Della told Jim she needed a fence for her garden.
It seemed like an innocent enough request.
Until she found him lying dead next to the partially built fence.
Della’s carefully tended garden was being ravished by the local animal population, which was why she desperately needed the fence. When she hired her friend Jim to do it, the last thing she expected was to have to investigate who killed him. The other murders she’d helped solve were strangers, not one of her best friends, and it was very hard for her to stay objective about this murder.
She had plenty of possible suspects to investigate including Jim’s soon-to-be ex-wife and her new love. And then there was a jealous client of Jim’s who accused him of being a little too friendly with his wife. Not to mention the shady bald-headed man with the goatee and a skull displayed on his jacket.
The coroner’s report determined that Jim died from strychnine poisoning, which was almost impossible to buy. But when someone is determined to commit murder, they find a way, such as breaking into an exterminator’s truck and stealing it.
When strange things start happening in Della’s yard, her big St. Bernard, Moose, isn’t the only one worried about her safety. Sheriff Jared, who shares an on-again off-again budding romance with Della, makes it his personal mission to protect her, but takes a dim view of her helping him investigate Jim’s murder.
Della has become an excellent amateur sleuth when it comes to murder investigations, but when she learns that the FBI has become interested in the hit-and-run death of her husband over a year ago, she’s not sure if that is a mystery she can solve.

3. The Nosey Neighbor - Della’s sister, Sophia, comes to Clover to help Della discover why the FBI wants to investigate the hit and run case in which Della’s husband was the victim, but the accident occurred over a year ago. Neither Della nor Sophia expect to help solve a possible murder mystery at the same time they’re looking into the hit and run case.
When a man is hated by everyone, and his wife doesn’t shed a tear when she learns that James, her husband, died in a car accident that may not have been an accident, red flags go up. Della had been told that strange sounds were often heard coming from their house, and Sophia is certain James’ wife is a victim of domestic abuse.
Then she and Sophia learn of other things that make them wonder if James’ wife really knew much about her husband. She certainly didn’t know two of the people he worked with who had serious issues with him. He had a fight with one of them while they were at work and the other one had been a victim of domestic abuse. After she saw James’ wife, she thought James was an abuser. Could those be motives for the suspicious death of James?
And his wife has met a man on her daily walks who is more than happy to help her out with yard work the day after her husband died. Very convenient for the wife that her husband is no longer around. Another motive?
While Sophia and Della try to find out why Seth, Della’s deceased husband, had a gun she never knew about, they uncover more secrets about Seth, and everything Della believed about him is upended. Maybe Bea wasn’t the only one who didn’t really know her husband!

6. A Recipe for Trouble - Every year, the quaint town of Clover buzzes with excitement as the County Fair rolls in. The lively sidewalk sales, thrilling rides, and the highly anticipated chili cook-off are the talk of the town. But this year, the chili brings more heat than anyone expected.
When a cook-off judge falls ill after tasting a suspicious bowl of chili, people begin to wonder how that could happen? The incident becomes even murkier when Della decides that the intended target might have been the town's sheriff, who was notably absent due to a sudden accident.
Enter Della, a resilient widow who's been grappling with the mysterious circumstances surrounding her husband's death. Just when she thought she’d laid her suspicions to rest, a determined FBI agent reopens old wounds, revealing that her husband’s "accidental" death was anything but. As Della delves deeper, she senses dark eyes trailing her every move and realizes she's next on the killer's list.
Tangled in a web of deceit, romance, and danger, Della finds solace in the unlikeliest of guardians: Moose, her loyal St. Bernard, whose fierce dedication to protecting his owner knows no bounds. With the sheriff and the FBI agent both vying for her heart and trust, Della must decide whom to rely on. But with Moose by her side and a town rallying behind her, she might just stand a chance against the shadows threatening to engulf her.

7. Winter Festival - "Winter Festival" is a captivating tale that weaves together the strands of loss, love, and a lingering mystery. Della, the protagonist, is haunted by the memory of her late husband, Seth, which leads to a surreal encounter with him in the form of a ghost in a dream, and it appears to her as if he never left. He warns her of impending danger and insists she keep Bryce, a close FBI friend of his, nearby—a request that tangles the past with the present.
As Della navigates the complexities of her emotions and the mystery surrounding Seth's message, she finds herself at the center of another troubling puzzle—the death of Clint Rogers, the chairman of the Winter Festival, a huge event in Clover, the small Ozark town where Della lives. Clint, known for his dislike of guns, is found dead in what initially appears to be a suicide. However, as Della delves deeper into the facts surrounding his death, the truth becomes murkier. Was Clint's death really self-inflicted, or is there a more sinister force at play in the seemingly tranquil town of Clover?
Balancing her personal grief and the growing sense of unease, Della becomes an unwitting detective, piecing together clues that lead her through a labyrinth of relationships, secrets, and hidden motives. From conversations with Clint's grieving family to interactions with his ex-wife and contentious Winter Festival committee members, Della uncovers a tapestry of small-town intrigue and resentments.

8. Second Hand Secrets - A mysterious box filled with vintage items arrives at Della’s store, Fox’s Finds, and thrust her into yet another mystery, even though she’s still trying to uncover the truth of her late husband's untimely death.
As she delves into the box's origins, Della finds herself on a collision course with danger, facing threats from the very forces that sought her husband's life. Surrounded by a close-knit community in the Ozarks, Della must unravel a web of deceit, betrayal, and hidden truths, all while grappling with her own unresolved grief and the budding possibility of new love.
This riveting tale combines the charm of small-town life with the suspense of a thriller, inviting readers into a world where the past is never truly buried, and secrets can be as deadly as they are enlightening.
