In addition to writing, Hoffman has taught, worked part-time at a B. Dalton bookstore, and done production work on The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. An accomplished fiddle player, she has played regularly at various granges near her home in Eugene, Oregon.

The Thread That Binds the Bones (Chapel Hollow #1):

The Silent Strength of Stones (Chapel Hollow #2):
An inquisitive young man named Nick -- a teenager with an uncanny gift for uncovering secrets -- has taken to spying on a group of enigmatic strangers, which includes a beautiful and mysterious young girl and her oddly intelligent dog/wolf. But the closer he gets to the girl and her weird, reclusive family, the deeper he sinks into a lethal mire of magic and destiny. For these people who live in a cottage that is supposed to be unoccupied have secrets Nick might be much better off not knowing: secrets about his mother's unexplained disappearance and about his own uncanny talents that could cost him more than Nick is willing to lose...including his life.
Spirits That Walk in Shadow (Chapel Hollow #3):
Kim and Jaimie are freshman roommates, but their college experience is anything but typical. This is Jaimie's first time in the "real world," away from her large, complicated family and their magics and traditions. It's Kim's chance to escape her high school reputation. But Jaimie quickly realizes what Kim can't see--it's more than just a "reputation." Kim is being pursued by something that feeds on her emotions. And, just like that, reality reshapes itself, as the two girls--along with Jaimie's three cousins--try to capture and rout the viri, or soul demon, who is tracking Kim.
