used calibre for sending books by email and never had a problem. send them as .mobi to kindle app and all good.

got emails from amazon saying that as of august they wont accept .mobi or .azw and it needs to be .epub

no problem with calibre, just change the book format, it automatically converts anyway. sent two books and both are impossible to read as it messes around with the characters, for example the apostrophes all come through as euro signs.

You may need to select different settings in Calibre for this book. Click convert > Look & feel > Text > Input character encoding > and select utf-8, for instance. If it doesn't work, try a different option from the drop-down menu.
