Overview: A rather particular app installer!



Sorry, I can't read Russian in order to give the original details about this app, but I can read its code to briefly explain what it does/offers:.

It doesn't install anything, but asks the system (Android) to perform the installation of the selected package.
The clever part is that it lets the system think it's coming from Google Play Store {com.android.vending}, nothing else!

What I've done on this app:
● At first I noticed that because of compatibility constraints with latest Android versions the smart dev decided to make a copy of the selected APK in a private folder {/data/user/0/com.example.kinginstaller/files/apk}, then to perform the installation from this copy.
Sadly the app doesn't take care of the copy and keeps it in its private folder.
This mod will delete all copies present in this private folder at exit.
● I removed the restriction of removing previous install, so this mod allows to replace an existing app if signed with the same certificate.
● Adjuted the UI accordingly
● What else: nothing interesting.

This is an interesting utility. By the explanation I thought the app details info will show that the app is installed from Playstore (com.android.vending) but it shows installed from KingInstaller. That would have been useful in case of paid apps which only has PackageInstaller check.

I think your app info shows the installOriginator but not the installer (in the sens of getInstallerPackageName).

LuckyPatcher`s installer does the same?

I think you are right, further tests shows that the app's check for getInstallerPackageName is indeed com.android.vending.

King wont let me install anything on my phone unless i give it sign in access to my realme account, i have never even used or signed up for that crap. but the Sygic GPS app worked perfectly for my phone as is, without king. Realme x chinese version android 11

Installed this on pixel 4a then installed sygic using king installer and it connected to android auto with no problem. Thanks for this Kirlif

Not work for me, still not showing at AA. I do the install with kinginstaller. Is it only applicable on certain version android auto?

Try clean AA data and check again
